Leading global design firm, Woods Bagot, was commissioned to refurbish the UTS CHANCELLERY building in Sydney. They required Existing Condition Documentation. A 3D point cloud and Revit model were also suggested for the intricate detail required. Woods Bagot already utilise Revit within their practice, so it fitted perfectly with their workflow for Realserve to deliver a Revit file.
Wood Bagot was under tight time constraints to deliver the design, so we proposed a methodology to deliver key pieces of data for the project in 4 stages of priority. These were Point Cloud and Revit models of the Base Building for the architect to begin design, the Reflected Ceiling, and Sections and Elevations. As a starting point, having a Revit Model for our client allowed them to get straight into the design, alleviating the need to convert 2D CAD drawings to Revit.
The client was able to start designing the refurbishment almost immediately with highly accurate 3D Models in the format they were already comfortable using. This helped ensure the design stage ran smoothly and the work was completed on time.
